About Me
I am an Assistant Professor of Management & Organization at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. I study morality at work, with a specific focus on how conflicts between people’s values impact their thoughts and behaviors at work. To date, most of my research has focused on loyalty, with the aim of disentangling a fundamental tension within loyalty: existing work demonstrates that loyalty benefits people and organizations alike, but a growing body of research highlights that loyalty can lead to negative outcomes including unethical behavior. I am also interested in, and conduct research on, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
I completed my PhD in Organizational Behavior at Cornell University. Before Cornell, I completed an M.A. in Psychology at the University of Chicago and a dual B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy at Bethel University. I grew up in St. Paul, MN, and outside of work I enjoy reading fiction and philosophy, scuba diving, fitness, hiking, cooking, consuming and rating beer, and attempting to increase my wine knowledge.
